Not only do Tokyo-based Alternative Rock band LAST MAY JAGUAR have a really cool name but they also put out a really cool mini-album in “Reloaded” a couple of months back. I’d personally never heard of this band before but in my defense this is their first new release in about 4 years after debut album “Ready For…” in 2014. I know I called them an Alternative Rock band and that’s true for the most part, but many of the songs on this mini-album also feature a lot of elements of Metal and oftentimes as sprinkle of EDM too. Lead vocalist yurica has a great voice although the band does like to vocode it on a few occasions here, which does give me some moderate PassCode vibes if I’m being honest. It’s particularly noticeable on track 6 “Love Bites (So Do I)”…uhm, well then. “Dynamite Words” and “Last Hope” are personal favorites from the 6 tracks on offer here, I just hope it doesn’t take another 4 years for the next release because I am definitely eager to hear more from this band.
