Lamp – Kanojo no Tokei

I’m not sure how exactly I came across the band Lamp, seeing as how it’s next to impossible to search for them on Google for reasons that should be fairly obvious to all of you. They’ve been around since the early 2000s and “Kanojo no Tokei” is their latest studio album, coming roughly 4 years after their last effort. The trio’s sound is rooted in Lounge and Jazz, with nods to Indie Pop and Alternative Rock along the way as well which makes for some pretty pleasant sounding ambient music. This is actually my first time being exposed to their music and I’ve been enjoying it quite a bit, even if I’m not typically a fan of male vocals in Pop songs they’re definitely working for me on this particular release. Personal highlights from the album include songs like “Slow-Motion” and “Daremo Shiranai” which I think also give a pretty good representation of what to expect from the rest of the album too. This is definitely one for all of you out there who enjoy your music relaxed and chilled out.
