I’m always up for discovering new bands that aren’t afraid of incorporating some piano into their music, and Kanagawa’s Itodenwa call themselves a “Piano Rock” band so I obviously had to check them out. “Denshobato no Tabiji” is the second mini-album from the band in their 3 years together and it does pretty much what it says on the tin. The piano is…instrumental in a lot of the songs and there’s quite a bit of bass guitar love going on too which gives a hint of Funk/Jazz which is always nice. Vocalist Natsumi also has a really nice, rich tone to her voice while also being very delicate when the need arises. Not the usual high energy, fast paced stuff I normally listen to, but it’s good to try different things from time to time.
