Most people are probably more familiar with Miyamoto Natsuko’s work as the lead singer of MASS OF THE FERMENTING DREGS, but she’s also a very underrated soloist too. “Namami” is her first solo album and it’s pretty different to the Lo-Fi, Shoegaze style of music that we’re used to from her. It’s a really stripped down acoustic album with most songs featuring just Natsuko’s vocals and a guitar. It has that kind of singer-songwriter vibe going on because that’s pretty much what this is. While not being the most lively of affairs, this album really hits on being emotive and it’s nice to hear some music that isn’t overly produced and needlessly complex for a change.
