Because there’s no Idol releases to talk about right now.

So its been about 3 months since I did the first of these articles (check it out here). It was something I just figured I’d try out and see if it was both fun for me to write and interesting for you guys to read. Thankfully, both of those things ended up being the case so here we are with the next installment. It does take me quite a while to put these things together though but I think it’s worth it and I guess so do you guys.

If this is your first time checking out this particular feature on the site, let’s do a brief recap. Normally I review Idol CDs (and podcast and write the odd guide) which I enjoy but sometimes you just have to spice things up a little…and sometimes there isn’t much coming out either. Basically the aim of this thing you’re reading is to allow me to talk about some releases from non-Idol but still Japanese artists that have caught my ear recently. I don’t want to bog the site down with this stuff though so I lump them all into one easy to digest article once every 3 months.

The format for these write-ups will be a bit different to what you’re used to. Mainly because I just do not have the time to be writing a track by track review of a dozen or more CDs on top of all of the Idol stuff I also review. Instead you’ll get a paragraph or two of my thoughts on the release overall, a YouTube video to give you a taste of what it’s all about and some links to pick it up if you really want to. Those links also give me a kickback of a dollar or two so you’re helping me out too if you use them. Pretty neat, right?

Anyway, enough of me rambling on. You all hopefully understand what’s going on here now and I do hope you click through and check out the selection of CDs I’ve got here. If you’re here strictly for the Idol stuff then feel free to give this one a miss, no hard feelings. Like I said this is going to be a thing I do every 3 months or so and every other review will be the typical Idol stuff that you’ve come to expect. Let’s get into this, shall we?
