Whenever the summer months are approaching you can always expect a release or two from SHE IS SUMMER, the solo project of up and coming vocalist and producer MICO. Well, she’s been releasing stuff several times a year for a little while now but shush you. “MIRACLE FOOD” is the soloist’s most recent EP and just like that trend, this release is similarly full of quirks. Lead track “Darling Darling” presents the listener with some City Pop inspired beats before heading off to explore some mellow funk on the EP’s fourth track “TRAVEL FOR LIFE” and even bringing in some acoustic guitar on penultimate track “Kimi o Picasso no mede mitara”. While admittedly a rather scattershot approach it definitely keeps things fresh and interesting and her willingness to venture down some roads less traveled always leaves you with a sense of anticipation for her next work.
