If you’ve been following this series for a while now then you shouldn’t be too surprised to see soloist Aimyon leading things off here once again. It really has been pretty cool to watch her grow as an artist over the years, and all of the success that has come with it too. Her latest single “Hadaka no Kokoro”, a tie-up for a TBS drama, has a very nostalgic feel to it thanks in large part to its instrumental composition which makes effective use of piano, guitar and harmonica to craft a very warm atmosphere. These themes continue into the single’s b-side “Yura Yura” though the latter is a comparatively more upbeat affair with added energy to a still very warm and sentimental feeling track. Both songs of course feature the singer’s wonderful vocals as they weave their magic on the listener in conjunction with the instrumentals. While perhaps not such a “cool” pick these days, Aimyon definitely hasn’t let mainstream success and fame change her too greatly and her raw talents remains as undeniable as ever here.
