CRCK/LCKS are a group that I like to feature in these roundups whenever they have a new release out, which isn’t all too often given that the band is more of a side project as its members are often busy with their various associated acts. Well we got two for the price of one here as they finally released their debut album “Temporary” and then followed it up but a couple of months later with an EP titled “Temporary vol.2”. The former features a variety of, mostly Jazz tinged, songs which plays to the band’s strength as musicians though a bit more mellow than we’ve heard on previous outings. Meanwhile the EP sees the 5-piece experiment with more seldom heard influences such as 80s Pop and Dub. The overall concept of both releases is that things are temporary and often exist in the moment and I think they communicated that ideal rather well when it came to writing the tracks for these releases.
