indigo la End – Nureyuku Shishosetsu

Whenever I want to get in touch with my emotional side Kawatani Enon’s indigo la End are usually one of the bands that I turn to and the group’s 5th major album “Nureyuku Shishosetsu” is yet another collection of heartbreaking, emotionally charged songs that are drenched in sadness. This is all something that has been perfected to a fine artform by Kawatani and his bandmates over the years and they seem to always find compelling new ways to wrench the heart release after release. All of the aforementioned emotions are communicated in a number of different styles, from the more typical Ballad nature of “Tōri koi” to 80s throwback “Kokoro no mi” or the singer-songwriter style of “Midnight indigo love story” and a whole lot more besides. Perhaps not the best soundtrack to accompany the uncertain times we find ourselves in currently, but if you need to let some pent up emotions out then this album is here to help you do that.
