Despite what the name of the project might suggest, soloist MICO’s output isn’t solely reserved for the warmer months of the year. SHE IS SUMMER instead opted to bring some warmth and summery vibes to what has been a particularly bleak Winter period, with the long awaited release of second album “WAVE MOTION”. Featuring tracks like the incredibly popular “CALL ME IN YOUR SUMMER” and “Darling Darling” along with new hits like “Ureshiku natchatte”, the album sets out to sooth the soul and melt away both your problems as well as the season’s lingering cold. While I personally find some SHE IS SUMMER tracks to be a bit hit or miss at times, overall I really enjoy MICO’s takes on genres like Funk, Disco and the still resurgent City Pop. If you lately find yourself needing a distraction to take the edge off then shit down with “WAVE MOTION” and let SHE IS SUMMER take your mind off of things for an hour or so. You’ll be glad that you did.
