If you’re a fan of either Zenbu Kimi no Sei da or Yukueshirezutsurezure then chances are you’ve probably already heard some of Milcboy’s work without even realizing it. She wrote the lyrics for “Word Flood Moment” which appears on Yukueshirezutsurezure’s “Post Catastrophe” album for example, and her own take on the song happens to feature on this EP. I’m not really sure how Codomomental works as a company but I guess there’s a lot of pooling and sharing of resources going on or something. I just knew that I had to check this EP out after learning of the connection.
Milcboy’s work kind of reminds me of Goto Mariko’s solo material in a way. I suppose it’s mostly the way the vocals are sung on a lot of the songs, there’s definitely some similarities there. The instrumentals vary from being quite Jazzy to very bright Pop verging on Rock numbers. Everything is either quite catchy or interesting to listen to in some other aspect. It’s kind of crazy how Codomomental has all of these great music acts all under one umbrella. I suppose it helps when one act is writing a lot of the material for the other two though.
