Let’s talk about some regular old J-Music releases for a change.
You might find this hard to believe, but I do actually listen to Japanese music that isn’t just exclusively from the Idol genre. Well, I try to at least. Between work, writing content for this site and various other real life commitments, over the course of the past year I haven’t really been keeping as close of a tab on the Japanese music scene as I would have liked. It’s a shame, because I know there’s probably been a ton of cool music that I just haven’t had time to discover and listen to. Well, hopefully this new feature will change that.
Basically every 3 months or so the plan is to compile a nice list of stuff I found interesting to my ears and present it to you guys, the readers of this fine website. I’ll chuck in a paragraph, maybe two of my thoughts on each release (I’m not here to hold your hand, just point you in the right direction) but it’s going to be as light a workload as I can realistically make it. I’m basically using this as a selfish excuse to actually go out and check out music because in my mind I figure I’ll actually do it if I justify it as me being able to produce content for the website off of the back of it. My mind is pretty weird if you haven’t already realized.
So yeah, if you’re here for strictly the Idol content then this probably isn’t going to be for you and that’s okay. You’ll just have to skip over 1 measly article every 12 weeks. Pretty sweet deal if you ask me. If you are down with checking out some different music then I certainly appreciate your time. I also appreciate any feedback you all want to give on this feature, be it the format, stupid mistakes I make, suggesting stuff I should check out, whatever you wanna say just leave it all in the comments. With that being said, let’s check out some music, shall we?
