10. Screaming Sixties feat. THE HEANACAT – Screaming Heanacat

Idol groups collaborating with bands has been a bit of a theme as of late and a prime example of this from 2018 was the mini-album “Screaming Heanacat”. A collaborative effort between cult favorites Screaming Sixties and Gothic rockers THE HEANACAT, this was a release that flew under a lot of peoples’ radars despite the hype of Screaming Sixties touring the UK with NECRONOMIDOL and 2& last summer. The term “Idol Rock” is thrown out by many with reckless abandon but this mini-album is one of the more accurate representations you’re likely to hear. The Iron Maiden influences in the instrumentals on several tracks are very apparent, as are the Punk sensibilities that the Sixties always bring along with them. Throw in a bit of piano and you have a very compelling mini-album that most likely didn’t hear due to a lack of digital distribution. Full Review
