DROP DOLL are a 3-piece band made up entirely of high school girls, at least that’s what their website says anyway. “Mikansei na Dreamer” is their major debut single, which came out in mid-December. I personally found out about them because they lend their song “We Go” to the MMA fighter King Reina to use as her entrance music, so I guess it really is a small world after all. There’s some pretty obvious comparisons to be made between DROP DOLL and SCANDAL but I suppose the same could be said about pretty much any Rock band that’s made up of teenage girls. They’re not really trying to reinvent the wheel here but if you enjoy solid, female fronted J-Rock songs then “Mikansei na Dreamer” has you covered for your fix.
