Cicada – Harvest / Party Out

I usually avoid digital singles and things of that nature, but for some reason I picked up Cicada’s latest double a-side release “Harvest / Party Out” and was very pleasantly surprised. I don’t typically seek out Hip-Hop/etc music because it’s not my scene at all, but Cicada’s blend of Hip-Hop, R&B and Indie Pop actually lands really well with me. I guess it’s pretty similar to the type of stuff you’d hear on City Pop tracks, which is a genre I’m definitely all about so that probably helped me out quite a bit. For me “Harvest” is the star of the show here, I could probably listen to that song all day…even if the “Hey!…Ho!” parts do kinda take me out of the listening experience for a brief second when they show up.
