When it comes to an artist like Haru Nemuri, I feel like it’s very much one of those cases where you either “get it” or you don’t. The singer’s unconventional but surprisingly complimentary fusion of genres such as Rap, Noise Rock, Electronica and Spoken Word sounds like it really shouldn’t work on paper but in practice it’s hard to argue with the results. The trend continues on her latest album “LOVETHEISM” where we’re treated to a wide range of styles, from the grandiose tones of “Fanfare” to the crazier nature of my personal favorite track “Riot” or the earnest energy of “Trust Nothing But Love”. It’s certainly fair to say that Haru wears her heart on her sleeve when it comes to her music. With her grand plans for world domination currently on hold, look to be seeing even more of her all over the globe both later this year and into 2021.
