Arise in Stability – Sairei / Dose Again

I’ve been getting back in touch with my louder, angrier side when it comes to music in recent months and Yokohama’s Arise in Stability have been catching my ear quite a bit with their second studio album “Sairei / Dose Again”. It’s only the band’s second album, coming 9 years after their first, but it is a logical progression in the band’s musical identity and sees them begin to incorporate more progressive elements into their Metal/Hardcore style. Odd time signatures and polyrhythmic compositions feature heavily and combined with a more melodic dynamic make for a very compelling (if not at times chaotic) listen. From the high octane “A Decree of Life Mercy” to the absolutely immense “Macrophylla Hydrangea”, right the way through to epic album closer “Atyanta” this is both a very technically impressive and hard hitting album. Highly recommended for fans of any of the genres I’ve listed previously, it’s excellent.
