I probably sound like a broken record, and you guys are probably getting a crazy sense of déjà vu right now but yes we are indeed kicking off another of these roundups with Aimyon. Hey, it’s not my fault that her name begins with “A” or that she releases great music on a frequent basis. Much like a lot of her recent output, new single “Manatsu no Yoru no Nioi ga Suru” is a tie-up and this time it’s with the “Heaven?: Gokuraku Restaurant” drama series. The a-side is a really cool Lo-Fi take on a Swing Jazz type of sound which I thought was pretty interesting as it’s definitely not something you hear everyday. B-side “Telepathy” then opts for a pretty feel-good sounding electro-acoustic style with a carefree summer vibe going on that makes for a very pleasing listen. Maybe one of these days Aimyon won’t be leading off one of these articles but as it stands right now, that would be a very sad day indeed.
