So I featured DADARAY in pretty much every one of these roundups I did in 2017, however before there was DADARAY two of their members (Kyujitsu Kacho and Etsuko) formed a band called Gesu no Kiwami Otome. They describe their sound as “Hip-Hop/Progressive” and “Tatakatte Shimau yo” is the band’s 5th single, written by Kawatani Enon of indigo la End fame who also plays guitar and provides lead vocals. Apparently the title track is being used as the CM song for the mobile game “Clash Royale” in Japan so there you go. If you like Progressive style songs with a heavy slant towards piano and bass (and perhaps more importantly can stand Kawatani Enon’s vocals/various personal life transgressions) then you probably already know who Gesu are but if you haven’t then they have 3 albums and several EPs for you to go get lost in for a couple of hours in addition to this great new single.
