Yanakoto Sotto Mute, a group that I’m still not entirely sure how the Western fandom really feels about. Their American performances last summer certainly garnered them more interest but on a wider scale it feels like they’re still rather underappreciated. The group’s latest album “MIRRORS” follows up 2017’s “BUBBLE” in a big way, something that I wasn’t entirely sure was possible. It feels like the group keeps growing from release to release and their ability to craft both emotive, soaring Rock Ballads then on the next track switch to something dirty and fuzzy makes for great variety in the listening experience. Vocally there are few groups that can touch Yanamute when it comes to both technique and the emotion generated in their performances. This album is something everyone should experience at least once and then hopefully convert fully to the cult of Mute. Full Review
