[Top 10] Album Releases of 2018

5. Oyasumi Hologram – 4

Oyasumi Hologram made us wait almost 2 years for the follow-up to their third studio album, but in 2018 the very literally titled “4” arrived. Featuring all manner of genres and Oyasumi Hologram’s Swiss army knife-like ability to switch between their acoustic, band and DJ styles this album is like an Indie music fan’s wet dream. In fact, this album probably would have gotten a lot more praise had a trendy Indie band released it but such is life I suppose. Much like the last couple of artists to feature, Oyasumi Hologram also had an American excursion in 2018. Playing both coasts on a tour that saw me miss seeing them entirely while I was in Japan. A sacrifice made to hopefully get some more people talking about them and maybe even this album too. For my money this is the best album to come out in 2018 that literally no one talked about upon release. Don’t expect another any time soon either, I imagine Oyasumi Hologram will be living comfortably off of the ridiculous amount of money they raised for their US tour for a few more months yet.
