Given the rather ominous title of their last album, there was a pretty big question mark looming over BILLIE IDLE as we started off the year. It turned out that we needn’t have worried that the group was disbanding and were instead shocked by the arrival of Pour Lui after hanging up her BiS hat for now. The group now boasts one of the strongest singing line-ups in Idol and decades of experience to boot. “NOT IDOL” not only sees Pour Lui make her recording debut on some all new material but it also sees BILLIE IDLE firing on all cylinders and delivering us an incredibly fun, predominantly Rock-leaning album. Worth the price of admission for the Motörhead homage alone in my opinion but if you’re also looking for some high energy Rock tunes with the powerful vocals we’ve all come to love from the group then there’s a whole bunch of that on offer here too.
