I mentioned that I wanted to check out more from CROSSFAITH when I last talked about them in one of these articles and well, they put out their new album “EX_MACHINA” so here I am. The Osaka natives have made a bit of a name for themselves with their blend of EDM and Metalcore, or whatever Metal genre is the correct one since people like to point it out when I get it wrong. I digress though, while certainly not likely to win over many purists I did enjoy much of what I heard here. “The Perfect Nightmare” and “Daybreak” are standouts for me and collaborative efforts featuring Hip-Hop duo Ho99o9 and Enter Shikari frontman Rou Reynolds also bring some new and interesting ideas to the table. A few of the more mellow sounding songs were a bit hit or miss for me personally but I did enjoy the bulk of what this concept album was trying to do. Not going to win me many points with the Trve Kvlt types though admittedly.
