Kobushi Factory – “Bacchikoi Seishun!”

PVRU135

I guess if I want to hear Inoue Rei belting it out, I can just go straight to the source for that, huh? Yeah, this PV came out nearly two months ago, but I finally watched it. I really don’t know why, but this summer I just fell so behind on everything. Even the groups I really like got neglected, because I’ve definitely loved Kobushu Factory so far. They have it all: great vocals, awesome energy, cute girls, and wonderful stage presence to name a few of their good qualities. This PV only proves that further.

This PV is totally in love with baseball. The dance shots are filmed on a baseball field, the solo shots in the bleachers, and the outfits fit the theme too. The primary outfit for this one is a blue and white baseball outfit complete with a big K on the front. Some of the other group shots also feature an alternative baseball outfit that features even more blue along with the members’ colors. There’s also some cheerleader outfits that are pretty showy. There’s also another outfit that looks like a jumpsuit that is mostly the members’ color and a streak of leopard print thrown in there for good measure. The outfits in this PV are a big win. Really high quality and the variety is appreciated when so many PV’s lately seem to just be sticking to one.

Kobushi Factory continues another great trend in that this PV is extremely high tension. As is typical for their PVs, it’s exceedingly rare to see anyone standing idly by. The dance shots always have something going on for every member. The choreography for this one is really fun and despite bouncing everywhere, the members do an awesome job of keeping it in sync. The solo and smaller group shots are almost chaotic, but in a good way. These shots also have some interesting camera work. I wouldn’t quite call it a tracking camera, but the movement is definitely unique looking, constantly making small movements in a circular formation around the member. It creates a really memorable aspect to these scenes. There’s no extensive use of aftereffects, but we do get the song logo up a few times at the start of each verse. There is a bit of Japan filter to the entire video but it’s not terrible. Overall this PV is very well assembled.

The song itself is a wonderful listen and features all the aspects I love about this group. The instrumentals are high tempo and full of energy. They’re also a little more dynamic than H!P’s typical offerings. The vocals also feature a lot of fanfare. It’s awesome that this group has so many members that can really dish out the long, awesome notes and they make fantastic use out of all of them in this song. My personal favorite, Inoue Rei, gets a ton of voice time in this one and it’s awesome. It’s four and a half minutes of amazing J-Pop fun and I couldn’t ask for more from this group. Their amount of progress the last year has been awesome to see and hear.
